What Are My Options When Buying Breckenridge Lift Tickets?

02/20/2024

Since opening in 1961, Breckenridge has become one of the most popular ski resorts in North America, averaging around 1.5 million skiers per ski season. If you’ve visited in the winter, you know how busy Breckenridge can get. The best way to ensure that you will be able to make the most out of your ski vacation, is to buy lift tickets online ahead of time. In an attempt to make the resort experience as enjoyable as possible, Vail Resorts is limiting the amount of lift tickets sold per day. Because of this, it is a good idea to secure your Breckenridge lift tickets as early as possible.

Buying your Breckenridge lift tickets that far in advance may seem concerning to some people, but Vail Resorts does offer refunds on unused tickets in certain situations. So, if you purchase your ticket and get injured or sick before your trip, you are eligible for a refund. If you purchase your lift tickets well in advance of your trip, they will be delivered to you by mail. Otherwise, you have the option to pick them up at the ticket window at the resort.

Does Breckenridge Offer Discounted Lift Tickets?

The best way to be able to ski at a much cheaper rate is to consider buying an Epic Pass. There are several different options when buying an Epic Pass that offer a variety of access to any mountain that participates. If you know you want to ski at an Epic Resort but you aren’t sure when or where, then an option to consider is the Epic Day Pass. The Epic Day Pass lets you ski at the mountains of your choosing and whether or not you have access to black out days. This pass gives you the opportunity to ski anywhere from 1-7 days throughout the season. If you intend to ski more than 7 days in a season, it might be a good idea to look at the other Epic Passes. Similar to the Epic Day Pass, these passes allow you to choose the level of access that best fits your needs. However, these passes are only on sale in the off-season. So, you will need to make sure to plan ahead of time.

If you don’t see yourself making the most out of an Epic Pass but you know someone who has one, you could potentially secure your Breckenridge lift tickets through one of their benefit tickets. Some Epic Passes come with the perk of having Ski with a Friend Tickets and Buddy Tickets. Ski with a Friend Tickets and Buddy Tickets offer the opportunity to assign someone without an Epic Pass the chance to ski at a discounted rate. It is important to keep in mind when using these benefit tickets, the pass holder that provided them to you must be present when you pick them up at the ticket window.

Breckenridge also offers discounts for active and retired members of the military, children under 4, and half day lift tickets. These tickets can only be obtained by providing the necessary documentation via the ticket counter.

Hopefully this information will help you to decide the best course of action when purchasing your Breckenridge lift tickets. If you decide to purchase an Epic Pass for the upcoming season, then consider downloading the Epic App to your phone. A new feature on this app allows users to use a digital Epic Pass. It also shows lift times, trail maps, and can track your day for you! Contact Paffrath & Thomas Real Estate for any other questions related to Breckenridge. We are happy to be a resource and look forward to working with you.
