Where We Started

Our story begins in the newly established ski town of Breckenridge, CO back in 1979.

After seeing the potential in the small town, Mark Thomas & Jeff Paffrath partnered together to help shape the booming town that Breckenridge is today.

Over the years, Mark & Jeff hand-selected a team of well-accomplished professionals. This real estate company in Breckenridge is still working together to provide a level of service and expertise that is second to none.

Two generations and three father-and-son teams later, Paffrath and Thomas has succeeded where others have dared not venture. We have made it a priority to preserve the family-owned values and integrity that others have lost.

Why We Stayed

Almost 2 miles above sea level you’ll find our office nestled in the popular ski town of Breckenridge, Colorado.

This town started, like so many other legendary Colorado destinations, as an 1859 mining town. It has weathered the decades, the storms, the booms and busts, and now Breckenridge thrives like never before.

You see, people come for the winters and end up staying for the summers. Once Breckenridge gets in your blood, there’s no place like this 5.3 square miles to call home. It happened to our families—a tale of love at first sight-seeing—and helped us decide to start a real estate company in Breckenridge.

From humble beginnings, Breckenridge now boasts approximately 4,500 residents. During peak season, the population (local and visitors) balloons to 39,000 on our busiest days.

That’s a lot of smiles in the streets, and a lot of friendly “Hello’s!” in the air.

The weather at 9,600 feet surprises people too. Our situation in a u-shaped valley on the western slopes affords visitors and citizens an average of 300 days of sunshine per year. How do we operate as a world-renowned skiing hub with that much blue sky? We also average 300 average inches of snow per year!

Summertime highs usually peak at 70 degrees, with nighttime lows around 50. Then add the flowers and the biking and hiking and fishing and…well, you get our point. Living in Breckenridge and in the surrounding towns— Copper Mountain, Dillon, Fairplay, Frisco, Keystone, and Silverthorne—gives the locals a sense of peace, of a life that’s oh-so-good.
