And while plenty of people live in the Breckenridge area full-time, the majority of our clients are only looking to use their new home for a couple weeks out of the year. So with that in mind, how does the process change? And what should you be looking for in a home?

The first—and maybe the most important—tip is to think about your priorities. When we meet buyers, most are incredibly excited to get started with the process. And we’re always glad to hear that. Buying property is a big decision, so you should be excited. That being said, it’s always a good idea to list some necessities.

Having trouble thinking of anything? Ask yourself why you’re buying the home in the first place. If you’re hoping to entertain a large number of people, you’ll need parking and places to sleep. If you want a remote property, storage is a must. Anticipate your needs and write those needs down.

Tip #2: Do Research

This may seem like an obvious step, but it’s important enough that we thought we’d reiterate it! When we meet with new clients, the process goes much smoother when the buyer has an idea of what they’re looking for.

The Breckenridge real estate market is cyclical, but overall continues on an upward trend., which means competition may be fierce.
